Connectivity Privacy Policy
Effective date: 18th August 2026 Connectivity ("the app") is a pastoral care contact-reminder app developed by Browns Integrated Technologies Ltd. This policy explains what data the app accesses, how it's stored, and who it's shared with.
Summary
Connectivity has no backend server and no user account of any kind. Every piece of data you enter — contacts, notes, photos, schedules — is stored only in a local database on your own device. The developer cannot see, collect, or access this data, because there is nowhere for it to go: it is never sent anywhere.
Connectivity is free to use and shows a small amount of advertising, with an optional one-off purchase to remove it. Showing ads and processing that purchase involves two third-party services (Google AdMob and RevenueCat, described below) — this is the only data leaving your device, and none of it includes your contacts, notes, or anything else you enter into the app.
Data the app stores
All of the following is stored only in a local database on your device, never transmitted anywhere:
- Contact names, phone numbers, and photos you add or import
- Notes and interaction history you record
- Tags/groups you create
- Reminder schedule and app settings (reminder time, variance, look-ahead window)
Permissions the app requests, and why
| Permission | Why it's requested |
|---|---|
| Contacts | Only if you choose to import a contact from your phone's address book, to copy their name and phone number into Connectivity. Connectivity never reads your full address book without this explicit action, and never modifies your phone's native contacts. |
| Notifications | To show the single daily reminder listing who's due to hear from you. Connectivity does not use push notifications and has no server that could send one. |
| Camera / Photo library | Only if you choose to attach or change a contact's photo. The photo is copied into the app's own storage; Connectivity does not browse your photo library otherwise. |
| Exact alarm / battery optimisation exemption (Android only) | Optional, requested during setup, to make the daily reminder more likely to fire on time. You can decline and continue using the app normally. |
| Advertising ID (Android 13+) | Required by Google's advertising SDK to serve and measure ads. Automatically declared by that SDK, not requested separately by Connectivity's own code. |
Every permission above is requested only at the point it's actually needed, and every one is optional — declining it does not block you from using the rest of the app (see the app's onboarding flow, which lets you skip any of these).
Advertising
Connectivity shows banner ads served by Google AdMob on a few screens. Connectivity only ever requests non-personalized ads — they are never based on your browsing history, app usage, or any profile Google may hold about you. Serving and measuring these ads still requires the AdMob SDK to process on-device and network identifiers (such as your device's advertising ID) under Google's own privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
If you're in the UK or EEA, Connectivity shows Google's consent form (via Google's User Messaging Platform) the first time it's relevant, and you can revisit that choice any time from Settings → Ad privacy options.
In-app purchases
The optional one-off "Remove ads" purchase is processed by Google Play Billing and managed through RevenueCat, a purchase-management service. RevenueCat receives a device-generated, anonymous identifier and the purchase/transaction details Google Play provides — never your contacts, notes, or any other data you enter into the app, and never your payment details, which Google Play handles directly. See RevenueCat's privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.
Data sharing
Connectivity does not share, sell, or transmit your contacts, notes, photos, or schedule data to the developer, to advertisers, or to any other third party. The only data that leaves your device is described above under Advertising and In-app purchases.
The only other third-party interaction the app has is launching your phone's own SMS or WhatsApp app when you tap "Message" — Connectivity hands off to that app to let you compose a message, but never reads message content, delivery status, or read receipts back from it.
Cloud backup (future feature)
A future version of Connectivity may let you optionally back up your data to a cloud storage account you choose yourself (e.g. your own Google Drive or Dropbox). If and when this is enabled:
- Backup is opt-in and off by default.
- Your data would be sent only to the specific personal cloud account you authorize — never to a server operated by the developer, since none exists.
- Declining or never enabling backup means no data ever leaves your device.
This feature is not yet available in the current version of the app.
Data deletion
- Deleting a contact within the app immediately and permanently removes that contact's data (schedule, notes, and interaction history) from the local database.
- Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data, since nothing is stored anywhere else.
Children's privacy
Connectivity is not directed at children and is not designed to collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this same location with a revised effective date.
